The Morning Briefing looks ahead: what is notable, how today compares to yesterday, when the rain starts and stops, and one line of advice. The Evening Briefing comes at sunset, for the day you have had and the night in front of you.

Which iPhones use Apple Intelligence
Apple Intelligence runs on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and every iPhone 16 or later, on iOS 18.1 or later in a supported language and region. Every other iPhone still gets both Briefings, written from the same facts without it. Either way it is written on your phone, and never sent to us. Apple Intelligence can make mistakes, so check the forecast before you rely on a detail.

Try a theme on your own weather.
Hold the logo at the top of the home screen. A haptic builds under your finger, then a tray of themes slides up over your live weather. Tap one and the whole screen repaints, with today's weather in it.

Lightning you can read at a glance
Strikes are drawn differently now. A solid bolt reached the ground, a hollow one stayed in the cloud, and the colour is its age. Tap one for when and how far away.

Rearrange your home screen where it stands.
Hold the weather card and the sections wobble in place, the way icons do on the Home Screen. Drag them into the order you want them in.

A new look, at your pace.
A new wordmark at the top of every screen, with an app icon to match. Switch to it whenever you like. It becomes the default in a future update, and the classic icon is not going anywhere.
Nav 2.0, experimental and opt-in
A smaller menu that gets out of the way.
The tab bar becomes a single pill that names where you are. Hold it for the full menu, and it folds away again on its own, leaving the whole screen to the weather.

Rain that knows where the cards are.
Rain has depth now. It falls behind your cards as well as in front of them, and it lands on them instead of falling straight past. Lightning lights the whole screen.

Rain and severe weather Live Activities clear themselves once the weather has passed, even if the app has been closed for hours.
